The signs of good quality are:

  • a firm rootstock that corresponds to the size of the plant, with a diameter of about half the size of the crown of foliage:
  • dark green, healthy foliage;
  • a profusion of buds.
  • low, regular growth with lots of branches, even at the lower levels of the plant;
  • The best time for planting is from the first month of spring through to the middle of the last month of spring, or from the beginning of autumn until the middle of the month of winter. This will give the shrubs enough time to root well before the beginning of the summer months when there is less rainfall,or until the first frosts, respectively.

    Exceptions: Theoretically, container plants can be planted all year round but the best chance of success will be achieved if you keep to spring or autumn planting.
